LMCCA said farewell to our much loved & admired member Rick Morgan on Saturday 4th December 2010.
Rick & Lorraine in a relatively short period of time, with great business acumen have developed a substantial trucking empire running 10 very flashy and individually named Kenworth prime movers which attended the funeral along with approximately another 12 similar units owned by mates and business associates; all prime movers immaculately polished and detailed forthe occasion. This made for a rather unique procession together with Ric's collection of classic cars driven by family and friends along with ten of our own club cars. The prime movers lead the way to the crematorium but we found that keeping up with Kenworths on the run was like trying to tail high performance sports cars.
Many sincere thanks to Phil Smith for providing his 64 Cadillac Hearse for the day which provided a touch unequalled. In all I think the membership attendance was 19 using 9 Lincolns along with Mannys 73 Eldo. Apologies for any omissions. It was a hot 30+ degree day handled well by all our cars with varying reports of air conditioning performance from those with that luxury. A late lunch and watering hole at Westside Hotel was welcomed prior to us heading home.
Rick joined our club in mid 2008 but was known to many of us some time prior to this date with frequent discussions on parts and Lincoln cars for which he had deep passion; considering his success in life he was a very modest man and the most down to earth person one could ever meet. He will be always fondly remembered and missed by all that had the pleasure of his company.
