Saturday March 6th was a very costly day in Melbourne for insurers and car owners with torrential rain and hail the size of golf balls totally destroying any car exposed to the elements.

One would be excused to think that Born In The USA at Docklands scheduled the following day would be buried especially when at 7am rain was again bucketing down; however this was not the case. Whilst severely down in numbers more than enough classic American cars braved the conditions and attended.

Apart from the 7am downpour and some light early rain the day did improve with blue sky at times.

Sixteen trophies were presented including the best club display won by a group of 8 cars from the Chev Club which included Trans Am & Firebirds.

The day was a great success made so by the help of many club members that worked tirelessly from 8.30am to 4.30pm. Gary's good planning provided a lounge retreat for members when a break was needed.

It was great that WA member Dave Perry managed to attend to meet our Victorian members.
