LMCCV Southbank Display With The Tbird Club

Sunday November 2nd 2008

Despite the weather forecast of thunderstorms (which did not develop) 16 cars ran the gauntlet & were on display at Southbank for what turned out to be a fabulous sunny day well supported by our Thunderbird friends.

The count was 8 Lincolns, 1 Mercury, 4 Thunderbirds, 1 Mustang, 1 super nice 427 Corvette and 1 Customised Mazda ute on airbags.

The day gave us the opportunity to trial our clubs new PA music system which pumped R&R all day.

Thanks to Frank Richards for bringing the only Mercury & traveling the farthest of all from Ballarat.

LMCCV & TOCA Attendees:

Frank Richards: Mercury Cougar

Ryan Lednar: 66 Lincoln convertible (now on airbags & spokes)

Cora Lynn, Sunday 5th October 2008

A sunny 23 degree day saw an excellent roll-up of members with highly polished Lincolns. Ryan scarred us a bit leaving his customised 67 in the garage & opting for his MGB. Eric & Gwen bought along a 59 Thunderbird, Richard & Veronica a magnificent 63 T/Bird convertible & Benny his LTD convertible. A guest & future member Trevor Rogers showed an impeccable 79 Corvette, professionally customised into a roadster.

Sunday 14th Sept 2008

On a cruise day to Ballarat LMCCV firstly visited "All American Auto Parts" where Ron McLean kindly showed his facility & car collection over a very welcome morning tea at his sales office. Then onto Nick's Restaurant in Sturt St for lunch where member & proprietor Nick Marios generously donated lunch for all. The day concluded with a car museum visit arranged by Nick.

Saturday 13th Sept 2008 Diamond Creek Town Fair

Saturday 13th Sept 2008 - Diamond Creek Town Fair
LMCCV was invited by Diamond Creek Rotary to participate in the annual Diamond Creek Town Fair. Unfortunately no Mercury's but a good roll up of Lincolns arrived & waited in a side street for the nod to join into the procession through the main street before being directed to the fair grounds where we set up our club display. Our display won us a $200 cheque being the prize for best club display.

Approximately 200 classic & vintage cars assembled at the Frankston section of the soon to be opened Eastlink Tollway. Various clubs were represented with exceptional support from Lincoln-Mercury, Thunderbird & Cadillac. The 50 minute cruise was controlled to 40kph as precaution with some 50,000 cyclists & incalculatable pedestrians. The cruise terminated at the Ringwood end where a car show took place on a cold but dry winters day.

Sunday 27th April 2008 Lions Club Car Show

A bitterly cold day created a poor turn out of cars from not only our club but all clubs generally. Thanks to Richard Rowley, the only person attending from the Thunderbird Club that joined us with a very swish late model Mustang (which the photographer missed) but made up our numbers.

Sunday 21st October 2007: Docklands, Public Showing Bigger & Better

Prestige Sunroofs was the major sponsor for “Born In The USA” free to public car show at Docklands that attracted close to 200 magnificent American Classics on Sunday 21st October 2007.

The huge display of cars engulfed the main quadrangle and extended a half kilometer along the promenade.

The array of makes and models was extensive and the event was well supported by major clubs with exceptional displays from the Thunderbird, Chev & Corvette clubs. The variety made even more interesting by many flamboyant custom cars and seven incredible sleds; one of which, a single spinner Ford taking out best at show. A dozen additional trophies were distributed for various categories to proud and deserving owners.

Thanks to Prestige Sunroofs some $6000 in raffle prizes were drawn. Prizes consisted of roof mounted in car entertainment systems, GPS system and bicycles etc as well as 60 UBD street directory giveaways .
